Did you find what you wanted?
Wed 27 Jan 2010
Once you begin your journey into meditation, you’ll soon discover the power that it has to reveal truth and peace in your life. In a fast paced world where everything keeps getting faster and more complicated, it’s important to deepen your practice with meditation.
With regular practice you’ll find that you’ll be able to go deeper into meditation without much effort. As you practice, you’ll be better able to deal with distractions and achieve a certain depth of meditation in a shorter period of time. If you practice for just 30 minutes per day, you’ll be able to go deeper each time.
Deepening Your Practice
You may be wondering what it means to deepen your practice. It’s definitely a topic that’s difficult to put into mere words. It’s similar to talking about how to deepen your love. If you’ve been in love you’ll know in your heart what it feels like to experience the depth of love. The same is true when you meditate, you’ll know what it feels like as your practice deepens.
Tactics For Deepening Your Practice
If you want to go beyond regular practice to deepen your meditation skills, you can try these other tactics.
Consider these suggestions as you deepen your practice:
- Focus. A big part of deepening your practice is working on an improved focus. Find something that works for you.
- First try experiencing eyes open meditation. Meditate with a small focal point and don’t let your gaze go astray during your session. You can also try eyes open meditation without the need for a strict focal point; this may help you to keep your focus within.
- Alternatively, you can explore the option of eyes closed meditation. Many people enjoy the aspect of shutting out the visual sense, while others think it’s too much of an escape from true life, so do what feels right.
- Your breath. Your breath is also a part of your focus. It’s how you break up your life into a series of moments. Take a moment to breathe in the good and a moment to exhale the bad. In order to deepen your practice, experiment with different breathing techniques.
- Work on the length of your breaths. Some people decide to work with their moods when they work on breath length. It’s a way to just go with how you feel, instead of deciding on a set pattern of breathing.
- Use a mantra. There are many mantras to choose from or you can even create your own depending on how you feel or what you like.
- Your posture. Your posture also has an impact on how deep your practice will go. Choose a position that’s comfortable for you.
- During sitting meditation, it’s always a good idea to maintain good posture. This means: Don’t slouch! The location of your legs usually doesn’t matter as much.
- If you maintain a good posture without hunching over, you tend to maintain your alertness and you’ll be less likely to fall asleep. Remember that your goal is to remain in the present moment and not merely to relax.
Keep Up Your Practice
The most important thing you need to do is keep up with your practice. You can then tweak any other aspect of meditation that you feel needs adjusting. However, you may find that you simply evolve without much effort as you continue your meditative journey.

Your attitude about life is one of the most important factors for success. A bad attitude gets you nowhere, while a good one can provide you with enough motivation to succeed beyond your dreams.
You may think that you already have a success-mindset, and perhaps you do. However, you can always benefit from strengthening that attitude and therefore increasing your chances for the success you deserve.
Follow these strategies for improving your attitude for success:
- Find your inspiration. Discover what inspires you the most and use it to jumpstart your motivation whenever you go. Feeling inspired enables you to maintain the drive necessary to find success. Do anything you can within your power to find inspiration.
- Make a list of your ultimate dreams, and then ask yourself if you’re on the right path. If you are, you’ll know that everything you’re doing will be rewarded.
- If you don’t feel like you’re on the right path, perhaps it’s time for a change. Maybe there’s a deeper reason why you’ve felt a lack of motivation. Reflect on what this reason might be, and then decide on how you can renew your drive. When you’re on the right journey, you’ll feel inspired!
- Surround yourself with positive people. When you’re around positive and inspiring people, you’re more likely to adopt those traits into your own personality and go for your goals with enthusiasm. Negative people, on the other hand, tend to make you negative also.
- If you must be around people that continually bring you down, do your best to avoid taking what they say to heart. You know that they don’t speak the truth. Keep the peace as best as you can to get through these situations and then move on.
- Take a leap. The best way to improve your attitude might be to just jump right into life. Don’t be afraid to take initiative and plunge forward towards your goals. People who take action find success. If you take action and start to see the results of your efforts, your attitude will only improve.
- The increased drive and motivation you get from your actions can be the difference between success and failure.
- Strengthen your focus. Your focus can also play a role in your attitude. When you maintain driven toward success, it’s easier to have an optimistic attitude. If you have a lack of focus and don’t know where you’re going, it leads to being unmotivated and uncaring.
- Allow for mistakes. You’re only human and you will make mistakes from time to time. Be careful to avoid judging yourself harshly when this happens, as it negatively affects your self-confidence. If you work on more of a “go with the flow” attitude, you’ll find that you’re able to pick yourself back up and continue moving forward when you do make a mistake.
The main things to keep in mind are that the combo of inspiration, positive thoughts, and proper motivation can lead you to a healthy and positive attitude. Follow these strategies daily and you’ll notice a boost in your spirits!

You can achieve great things through meditation. But what exactly are these things? The truth is that you get to create the definition. If you’re after success, meditation can help get you there.
Meditation has been around for ages and it’s a great, relaxing activity to engage in everyday. Also, it’s available to everyone in every moment. Plus, it’s completely free!
Ultimately, there are no excuses for not being able to meditate. Some will say that they simply don’t have enough time. But are you not worth a few minutes a day? Of course you are! You should be able to allot yourself at least 15 minutes per day, just to focus on your own success.
How Meditation Can Help
Meditation is an art that has many opinions associated with it and there are also many ways to meditate. A consensus remains around the fact that it’s about clearing your mind and remaining in the present moment. With regular practice you’ll gain the necessary clarity and discover truths about your life.
Meditation is a great way for you to discover something you may already know deep down. You operate on many levels and you already know how to achieve the success you desire. Problems arise when you spend too much time dealing with day-to-day activities and too little time exploring your depth.
Feel Your Emotions
Getting in touch with your emotions is an important thing. It’s not only reserved for females, nor is it something that will make you vulnerable. It’s an important step on your way to discovering success.
When you meditate and really feel your emotions on any subject, you’ll begin to tap into the truth. What is it that you’re really after? What is your true definition of success?
You’ll often hear of the actor that achieves fame but still doesn’t feel fulfilled. You may have also heard about the successful business mogul who reaches career and financial success but still feels incomplete at the end of the day. These people haven’t truly determined their own definition of success and, instead, have chased someone else’s dreams.
Enjoy the Process
You must stay present and enjoy the process. An actor will remain happy with his or her success if they truly love the art of acting. If they were only after fame and later discovered that it wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be, then they may have followed the wrong path and should reevaluate their path to success.
If you spent too much time on your business plans, make sure you take a step back and remember where you’re going. In this case, you can practice “walking meditation,” which is when you go through the steps of your day-to-day life completely aware of what you’re doing in each moment. This may sound easy, but it can be difficult to master!
Your Focus Can Shift
Once you’ve decided where you’d truly like your life to go, you can take the steps to get yourself there. However, remember that you can’t get back lost time. There’s always a life lesson to be learned by the path you’ve chosen.
Remember that each moment brings incredible transformations. You need to allow this to happen and resist the urge to fight change. This also means that your life goals may change, as well. And that’s okay! It helps to go with the flow and be willing to adapt as you go.
Practice Affirmations
Affirmations are excellent statements to meditate on while you’re achieving your focus. If you remind yourself that you’ve already achieved success, you’ll get there.
Really spend some time envisioning your success. Think about what it feels like to achieve. In the same way that you would picture yourself in a safe place when you’re scared, picture yourself in a successful place when you have doubts.
When you believe in the power of meditation, you believe in your true self, and then success will be yours!

Wealth creation all starts with the mind. If you have an abundance attitude and wealth mindset, you’ll be able to attract the financial success you deserve!
While there are many paths to wealth, once you discover the abundance mindset, you’ve set yourself up for actually achieving your dreams. But how do you create this mindset in the first place?
Here are some techniques that will help you develop a wealth mindset:
- Visualize your goal. It’s not enough to just say you want to “be rich.” You have to make the conscious decision to create a clear goal and visualize all the details. It’s best to focus all of your energy on one thing rather than spreading yourself too thin.
- Be specific. Break down your goal into minute details and start thinking about the exact steps you need to take in order to get there.
- Break up the plan. The goal seems huge at first, but once broken down into smaller, more manageable steps, it doesn’t seem so bad. Focus on each individual task that you need to complete, and then congratulate yourself once you achieve each step.
- Take action. It’s easy to get caught up in the daydreaming and planning phases of your goals, but action is what it takes to get you there. Your dreams become realities with action; otherwise they’ll just remain dreams forever.
- Seek a mentor. Sometimes people are tempted to go at it alone, but you’re not alone in this world! There are many out there that would like to see you succeed and it’s your responsibility to find these like-minded people. Perhaps a business mentor or life coach may be just what you need to give you that extra push.
- Focus on your thoughts. If you’re experiencing confidence issues, it’s important to take time to focus on your thoughts. Do you really believe that you can achieve wealth? Are negative thoughts holding you back? If necessary, remind yourself that wealth is possible and that success is a very real possibility for you as well.
- Believe you deserve it. Believe that you are worthy of achieving wealth. If you don’t think that you deserve it, you may unconsciously set yourself up for failure. In turn, you may actually become the roadblock that prevents you from the wealth you deserve.
Believe In Yourself
Do you truly want wealth? Then be willing to follow through on your action plan while maintaining a positive attitude.
In life there are plenty of snags in the road and your path to wealth won’t always be easy. If you maintain the perseverance to achieve, you’ll be more willing to seek solutions and find success.
Remember that you have to start somewhere. Take the time to truly appreciate your progress. So for example, if you’ve doubled your salary, that’s a huge feat to be celebrated! While you may not be rich yet, you’ve made progress on the way to wealth. Keep focused on your goal and you’ll continue to build an unstoppable momentum.

Bad habits can form without you even knowing it and they can prove to be difficult to break. However, it’s always the first step that’s the most difficult. Once you get started, you’ll build both momentum and confidence.
With a proper focus and willingness to succeed, you’ll find that you can overcome any bad habit. Then you can choose to replace that bad habit with a more positive one.
Breaking Bad Patterns of Behavior
Before you can tackle the problem of replacing a bad habit with a good one, you’ll need to be mentally prepared to detach yourself from the habit. A strong mindset allows you to tackle nearly anything!
Keep these tips in mind as you prepare to transform your habits:
- Get organized by figuring out the bad pattern you’d like to break.
- Start small, with one habit at a time. Trying to change too much at once can overwhelm you.
- Decide that you truly want to change. If you don’t want to change, you simply won’t.
- Don’t judge yourself. If you make a mistake, get back in there and keep trying.
The Substitution
The key to permanently breaking a bad habit lies in being able to replace it with a good one. If you engage in a bad habit and decide to simply stop entirely, it can be incredibly tough. You might be okay for a while, but chances are you’ll find yourself back to your old bad habits in no time.
Consider some of these situations for substituting good habits for bad ones:
- Exercise. Exercise is an excellent substitution for bad habits. Exercise can make you less likely to overeat and help you battle other addictions as well. With exercise, instead of just trying to refrain from the addicting activities, you’re actively releasing your energy in other ways.
- “Being social” and other excuses. Sometimes we say that our bad habits happen in social situations only. It’s true that we’re social creatures, but certainly you can be social in ways that aren’t detrimental to your health! Change your routines to avoid the temptation.
- Taking action. Your solutions don’t have to be conventional or from a textbook, but they do have to work for you as an individual. Strive to take action and stay the course, even if you stumble from time to time.
Fulfill Your Needs
You must learn to fulfill your needs in a healthy way. Chances are you’ve developed a bad habit because of an underlying need. Identify this need and find positive ways to fulfill it.
You might need to do a little soul searching in order to find the true underlying causes for your bad habits. If you have a bad habit of grinding your teeth at night, you might need to ask yourself why. Taking an action like wearing a mouth guard is one thing, but maybe you also need to take action to get to the root of your stress!
You might engage in many negative actions because you don’t feel needed and loved the way you think you deserve to be. This is the root of the problem that we often ignore. Masking the pain with self-destructive habits is clearly not going to solve the issue. Instead, discuss your concerns with family, friends or a health professional and be proactive in solving it.
Following these tips to help you turn bad habits into good ones may take some time and effort, but the benefits of a happier and healthier life are well worth it!
